Ballinrobe is an ideal centre from which to enjoy walking and cycling tours throughout the South West countryside.

Ballinrobe Golf Club at Cloonacastle is superb parkland course whose features include a medieval castle and the remains of and old lime kiln. Water comes into play on 7 holes but the visual impact of the thirteenth, a montage of water, green and lime kiln will remain for considerable time. The course has five par fives and plays to a par of 73 over its 6234 meters (6850 yards) distance. Clooncastle Estate is an idyllic setting for such a magnificent championship course.

Ballinrobe is an anglers paradise, with the World Champion Fly fishing competition held in the area every year. Game fishing with salmon and wild brown trout available on Loughs Mask, Carra & Corrib, while sea trout and salmon fishing can be arranged in Connemara.
